ON THE WING, BETWEEN WAVES

AND CURRENTS

— Ann Maria Healy

12 April 2025 – 7 June 2025

There is a horizon where breath and colour dissolve, where thought slows to the rhythm of unseen tides. A field of quiet undulates—oscillations flickering between wake and dream, a current of electric stillness.

Somewhere above, a body remains in motion, drifting yet watchful. Suspended between effort and surrender, sleeps in halves—one hemisphere surrendered to darkness, the other tracing the unseen lines of the wind. To hover here is to touch the edges of knowing, where form is both vessel and vastness, both grounded and aloft.

The landscape folds inward, shaped by breath and silence. The ridges of the body mirror the rise and fall of distant mountains; the slow arc of an wing recalls the curvature of dunes shifting in unseen winds. Here, space is neither fixed nor separate—contours flow into one another, dissolving into a terrain of motion and stillness.

Beneath the surface, waves of energy move unseen, a quiet choreography of pulses and currents. Thought drifts like mist across a valley, touching each ridge and hollow before fading into air. The rhythm hums in layers—an invisible tide, a signal moving through distance. Patterns emerge, then disappear. Motion leaves its trace.

Pigment pools like water meeting land, veils of hue thinning into air. No single form holds. No single moment stays. Everything breathes—rises, falls. The sea folds into the mountain, the sky spills into the wave.

To be here is to move between thresholds, where quiet stretches wide and currents flow beneath the surface. A place where boundaries waver, where colour lingers and dissolves, where weight shifts with the wind. And here, within it, the pulse slows. Thought untethers. The infinite hums in colour and quiet.
