A series of paintings by Roland Mahon using only stencil and spray paint on canvas has been executed after a visit to Cairo this year. The works are rooted in the unexpected architecture of Egypt.
Mahon's practice is a quiet interrogation of space, memory, and the unseen narratives embedded within contemporary culture. His work aims to distil complex cultural moments into minimalist, evocative visual essays. By balancing formal composition with a documentary sensibility, he invites the viewer to slow down, look beneath the surface, and engage with the quiet, overlooked dialogues that define modern existence.
Roland Mahon is a Dublin-based visual artist, photographer, and filmmaker whose multi-disciplinary practice bridges the worlds of fine art, documentary, and creative direction. His archival work has earned recognition, including selection for the 192nd Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) Annual Exhibition.
