The Cash Shop is a gallery and project space for contemporary visual art located in the centre of Gort, Co. Galway.
It is an exprimental curatorial project by artist Jim Ricks. The Cash Shop is interested in contemporary Irish visual arts practice, public art, and how art can transform space and instill pride of place. Additionally, The Cash Shop is invested in cultural exchange, and making heritage visible.
The name comes from the name of a long running ladies clothing store that used to occupy the same shopfront.
